The big thing I’m still trying to wrap my head around now is siege attacks. Whenever it happens, I do my best to ride away and adapt my strategy the best I can, but I’m still learning. I’m still trying to figure out how to handle enemy reinforcements who materialize, sometimes, as if having been transported down from a starship, sometimes right next to you or worse, all around you. The rule is to always keep moving and look for soft targets.Īt this point, I think I’ve arrived at a level of comfort and confidence and competency in battles and skirmishes. The main thing is to not allow yourself to be caught alone amongst a throng of heavily armored enemy units. Even riding through clumps of units without striking out with your weapon at all can be very helpful. Every range unit you distract, is less damage for your lads. It breaks their formations and distracts them from attacking your own units and really seems to speed things up. Strike and ride away and strike again, rinse and repeat.
If you’re comfortable with mounted combat, it really pays to circle the enemy and ride around amongst them and harass them.
